Position Summary
The CDL Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods using commercial motor vehicles in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. This role requires adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) standards, strong attention to safety, and excellent time management skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles safely and professionally, following all DOT and traffic regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
- Transport goods to designated locations on schedule, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo.
- Maintain accurate logs of hours of service, mileage, fuel usage, and delivery documentation per DOT requirements.
- Report any mechanical issues or safety concerns promptly to the maintenance team.
- Assist with loading and unloading as needed, ensuring compliance with weight and load distribution standards.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers to ensure timely deliveries and resolve any issues.
- Adhere to company policies, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements at all times.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements (e.g., Class A or B).
- Clean driving record and compliance with DOT standards.
- Minimum 3 years of CDL driving experience preferred.
- Ability to lift and move items up to [50 lbs] as required.
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, hours-of-service rules, and safety procedures.
