Dispatcher

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Dispatcher to coordinate transportation operations efficiently and effectively. In this vital role, you will serve as the communication hub for drivers, carriers, and clients, ensuring timely dispatching of freight and shipments. Duties

• Coordinate and schedule pickups, deliveries, and shipments using transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine.
• Utilize GPS and GIS tools to monitor vehicle locations, optimize routes, and ensure timely deliveries.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, carriers, warehouse staff, and clients via multi-line phone systems while maintaining professional phone etiquette.
• Enter accurate data into freight management platforms like AS400 and transportation management systems to track shipments, schedules, and inventory movements.
• Manage shipping & receiving documentation, ensuring compliance with safety standards and company policies.
• Oversee fleet management activities including vehicle dispatching, maintenance scheduling, and tracking using specialized logistics software.
• Analyze transportation data to identify efficiencies, troubleshoot issues, and improve overall supply chain performance.

Requirements

• Proven experience with dispatching in a logistics or transportation environment; familiarity with 3PL (third-party logistics) operations is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of transportation planning, freight management, and supply chain processes.
• Proficiency in using GIS, GPS devices, Oracle Transportation Management, SyteLine, AS400, and other transportation management systems.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems professionally.
• Strong analysis skills for route optimization, freight tracking, and problem-solving within transportation operations.
• Ability to perform data entry accurately under tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
• Familiarity with shipping & receiving procedures as well as fleet management practices is preferred.
• Demonstrated typing skills for quick data input combined with good phone etiquette for effective stakeholder communication. Pay: $24.71 - $29.75 per hour
