Special Education Teacher (Grades 6–8)

Lehigh Valley Academy (LVA) is seeking a collaborative Special Education Teacher to support students in Grades 6–8 within our International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme. Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities in Grades 6–8

• Collaborate with general education teachers to implement accommodations, modifications, and inclusive instructional practices

• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

• Collect and analyze student performance data to inform instruction and measure progress toward IEP goals

• Facilitate and participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with families and service providers

• Support students' academic, social, emotional, and executive functioning needs

• Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local special education regulations

• Foster a positive, supportive learning environment where students are encouraged to become self-advocates and independent learners

Qualifications

• Pennsylvania Special Education Certification (or ability to obtain Pennsylvania certification)

• Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred

• Demonstrated commitment to inclusive education and student success

• Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills

• Experience working with middle school students preferred

• All required Pennsylvania clearances

Salary : $58,000 - $60,750
