Responsibilities
What Will You Do?
- Develop, optimize, and implement manufacturing methods and processes (e.g., line balancing, assembly flows, process flows).
- Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
- Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished-product and process capabilities; establishing standards; and confirming manufacturing processes.
- Evaluate manufacturing processes by researching, designing, modifying, and testing methods and equipment; soliciting observations from operators; and conferring with equipment vendors.
- Review new product designs to identify design for manufacturability (DFM) issues and opportunities; support new product introduction initiatives.
- Develop tooling and fixtures for manufacturing processes and assembly operations.
- Monitor and troubleshoot production issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
- Prepare process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Create and maintain accurate manufacturing documentation, including process flows, ECOs, and work instructions.
- Provide technical assistance and training to maintenance, operations, and assembly personnel.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing principles to enhance safety, quality, and productivity.
- Maintain product and company reputation by complying with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing engineering, drafting, or related engineering capacity.
- Experience with CAD software (2D/3D) preferred.
- Experience troubleshooting rolling mills preferred.
- Experience with automation, advanced manufacturing technologies, and new product introduction processes preferred.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods, and tool design.
- Familiarity with manufacturing equipment, quality assurance techniques, and lean manufacturing concepts.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Effective project management and organizational skills, with ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); experience with ERP systems preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and train others on processes and procedures.
