As a Supervisor - EHS you will have the opportunity to oversee all aspects of safety and environmental compliance. Additionally, you will work closely with Branch One Management, Corporate Safety, and Corporate Environmental teams to ensure a safe, compliant, and continuously improving workplace.

So, what will you be doing as a Supervisor - EHS?

  • Oversee safety orientation for new hires, including safety rules, workers’ compensation, environmental compliance, and required safety programs (Bloodborne Pathogens, Lockout/Tagout, Hearing Conservation, PPE, Hazard Communication, Fire Extinguishers, Employee Exposure Access, Medical Records, Back Injury Prevention).
  • Deliver annual training for all employees in Hazard Communication, Hearing Conservation, Lockout/Tagout, Bloodborne Pathogens, Fire Extinguishers, Emergency Evacuation, Fire Drills, Confined Spaces, and Back Injury Prevention.
  • Conduct initial and refresher training for First Aid/CPR, Plant Emergency Organization, forklift operators, and expeditor operators.
  • Provide supervisory training in accident investigation, safety rule enforcement, and monthly zoned audits.
  • Maintain all OSHA‑required written programs.
  • Complete Job Safety Analyses for plant roles.
  • Conduct, document, and follow up on required inspections, including monthly plant safety inspections, daily industrial vehicle inspections, lockout/tagout inspections, e‑stop checks, stormwater preventive maintenance, and associated reports.
  • Pursue continuous cost reductions within all areas of responsibility.
  • Manage forklift and expeditor driver licensing programs.
  • Lead accident investigations, determine root causes, implement corrective actions, and follow up on claims.
  • Oversee Workers’ Compensation claims, coordinating with insurance carriers, medical providers, nurse case managers, and injured employees.
  • Lead or coordinate employee and management safety committees and follow up on recommendations.
  • Maintain accident reports and OSHA 300 Logs.
  • Coordinate carbon monoxide testing, biohazard waste pickup, noise level surveys, and annual hearing tests.
  • Ensure compliance with governmental regulations, insurance requirements, and corporate guidelines; provide updates to branch management and corporate safety staff.
  • Maintain the Safety LPCS Training Matrix.
  • Coordinate state inspections (Backflow Preventer, Dry Pipe Trip Test, Pressure Vessel Inspections, Fire Extinguisher Recertification).
  • Submit wage information to claims carriers for TPD processing.
  • Manage stormwater permitting, testing, and training.
  • Complete Tier II forms and submit to Corporate Environmental and the Department of Natural Resources.
  • Conduct testing required by Carthage city sewer regulations.
  • Complete Form R reporting.
  • Monitor waste management and oversee emergency release reporting.
  • Partner with Corporate Environmental to maintain records and ensure EPA compliance.
  • Perform monthly grounds inspections per NPDES permit requirements.

To Be Successful In This Role, You’ll Need

  • 5-10 years of EHS experience; one year of Supervisor experience preferred, but not required
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required
  • OSHA, Workers’ Compensation, and EPA expertise
  • Strong communication skills to convey safety expectations, training content, and corrective actions clearly
  • Manufacturing environment experience – comfortable spending extensive time on the shop floor
  • Ability to prioritize, adapt quickly, and perform effectively in a visible, leadership-facing position
