Maintenance Technician – Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Facility
Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and functional environment for clients, staff, and visitors. This position performs preventative maintenance, repairs, inspections, and general upkeep of the facility while ensuring compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards applicable to behavioral health and substance use treatment programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and painting.
- Conduct preventative maintenance according to established schedules.
- Inspect the facility regularly to identify safety hazards and maintenance needs.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repair situations.
- Maintain the grounds, including landscaping, snow removal, and parking lot upkeep as needed.
- Ensure client rooms, common areas, and offices remain in good working condition.
- Assist with room setup, furniture assembly, and moving equipment.
- Monitor and maintain facility security features, including locks, doors, lighting, and alarms.
- Maintain maintenance logs, work orders, and equipment service records.
- Coordinate with outside contractors for specialized repairs and inspections.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, fire safety, infection control, and applicable state licensing requirements.
- Safely operate and maintain tools and maintenance equipment.
- Support emergency preparedness activities and participate in facility safety drills.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous maintenance experience preferred (2–3 years in commercial, healthcare, or residential facilities).
- Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
- Ability to troubleshoot maintenance issues independently.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including standing, climbing ladders, bending, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in healthcare, behavioral health, or residential treatment facilities.
- OSHA or maintenance-related certifications.
- HVAC or electrical certification is a plus.

Work Environment
- Indoor and outdoor work in a healthcare/residential treatment setting.
- May require occasional evenings, weekends, or on-call availability for emergencies.

Pay: $18.00 per hour
