SUSHI COOK

The Sushi Cook is responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality sushi dishes to guests in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards. This role ensures that all sushi ingredients are fresh, properly handled, and consistently prepared in a clean and safe work environment. The Sushi Cook will also engage with guests at the oyster/sushi bar, delivering excellent customer service and contributing to a memorable dining experience.

Job Requirements

• Prepare and assemble sushi dishes according to recipes and presentation standards.
• Ensure the freshness and quality of all ingredients used.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations and tools, adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Manage inventory of sushi ingredients and notify management of supplies needed.
• Follow proper food handling and storage procedures.
• Assist in training new staff members.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders.
• Maintain a consistent standard of quality for all sushi dishes.
• Engage with customers at the oyster bar/sushi, providing knowledgeable answers about menu items and making recommendations.
• Present dishes in an appealing and appetizing manner.
• Handle customer inquiries and special requests professionally and courteously.
  
  

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

• Proven experience as a Sushi Cook or in a similar culinary role.
• Strong knowledge of sushi preparation techniques and plating.
• Solid understanding of food safety standards and sanitation procedures.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and customer service skills.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business requires.
