What You Bring to the Table:
We are seeking an experienced Director of Finance with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration (MBA or CPA preferred), at least 5 years of progressive experience as a Controller or equivalent in a healthcare environment, and 5 years of supervisory experience. Knowledge of FQHC operations and grants management is preferred. You will provide strategic financial leadership and oversee the full Finance department, including Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and Purchasing. This role works closely with the CFO to ensure strong financial controls, accurate reporting, compliance with grant requirements, and long-term organizational sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct leadership, coaching, and performance management to the Finance team, including Accounting, AP, AR, Payroll, and Purchasing staff
- Oversee all financial operations including general ledger, financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, and revenue cycle activities
- Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies and procedures in accordance with GAAP
- Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including required federal and state reporting
- Manage the annual budget process and provide ongoing financial analysis and forecasting to support strategic decision-making
- Direct internal and external audit activities and ensure strong internal controls are in place to safeguard organizational assets
- Oversee payroll operations, purchasing functions, and contract compliance while identifying opportunities for cost containment and process improvement
- Partner with department leaders across the organization to support financial planning, operational improvements, and high-quality patient care initiatives
