The Role
As Human Resources Manager, you’ll help shape and support the systems that care for our employees—from benefits and compensation to compliance and HR operations.
This role blends strategy with day-to-day execution, working closely with leadership, employees, and external partners to keep things running clearly, accurately, and in a way that reflects our values while meeting all applicable state and federal requirements.
What You’ll Do
Benefits
- Oversee employee benefits strategy, vendor relationships, and daily administration
- Manage open enrollment, new hire enrollments, and qualifying life events
- Support employees with plan education and questions
- Ensure compliance requirements are met, including COBRA and Form 5500 filings
- Reconcile vendor invoices and maintain accurate documentation
401(k) Plan Oversight
- Support plan administration, compliance, audits, and reporting
- Identify eligible participants and coordinate enrollment processes
- Participate in oversight committee meetings and maintain documentation
- Provide education and guidance to employees
Compensation
- Maintain and update wage structures and hire-in ranges
- Monitor local market trends to keep compensation aligned
- Lead the annual merit increase process, including planning and cost analysis
- Partner with leaders and recruiters on compensation decisions
Compliance & HR Operations
- Stay current on employment laws and regulatory changes (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, OSHA, etc.)
- Oversee leave programs, workers’ compensation, unemployment claims, and reporting
- Support audits, documentation, and policy updates
- Partner with legal counsel as needed
HR Systems & Support
- Oversee HRIS system and reporting
- Assist with payroll auditing and serve as back-up for payroll processing
- Support employee relations, investigations, and policy administration
- Partner across the HR team to align total rewards with retention efforts
Advisory & Partnership
- Serve as a trusted resource for leaders and employees
- Provide guidance on benefits, compensation, and HR-related questions
- Support special projects and ongoing HR initiatives
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 7 years of progressive HR experience, with emphasis in benefits, compensation, and compliance
- Strong understanding of employment laws and regulatory requirements
- Ability to communicate clearly and build trust across a wide range of people
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
- Discretion and a high level of confidentiality
- Independent thinking with a steady, reliable approach
Additional Details
- Occasional travel between Legacy communities
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
- Valid driver’s license with a strong driving record
