Overview
Nurse for outpatient private practice Plastic Surgery & Medical Spa office. The practice hosts 2 plastic surgeons, 1 nurse injector, and 1 aesthetician. This job would focus on the day-to-day duties of the 2 plastic surgeons. Even if you don't have experience in a surgical field, or plastic surgery, if you are eager to learn and motivated, the surgeons will help guide and teach you.
Responsibilities
- New Patient Surgical Consults (Cosmetic & Insurance): Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and health histories to inform individualized care plans
- Prepare and fill syringes for neurotoxins and GLP-1 medications.
- Perform intravenous blood draws for PRP/PRF procedures.
- Discuss pertinent perioperative care with patients at pre-operative appointments. Help prepare patients for surgery and be able to answer questions for them
- Document patient interactions on our Electronic Medical Record
- Educate patients on pre-operative, peri-operative, and post-operative management
- Help order breast implants
- Take patient measurements and order correct postop garments.
- Help look up particular ICD-10 codes and CPT codes under surgeon guidance.
- Perform dressing changes, wound care, remove sutures, take patient photos.
Qualifications
- Valid nursing license (RN) in good standing with relevant state licensing boards
- Proven experience in diverse healthcare settings such as hospital medicine, ICU, emergency room, long-term care, or outpatient clinics
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for accurate medical documentation
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and diagnostic evaluation techniques
- Familiarity with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety
- Excellent communication skills for triage assessments and interdisciplinary collaboration
Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
