Job Description:
The Childcare staff member is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children ranging from infants (6 weeks) to school-age (13 years). This position is flexible and requires the ability to work in any classroom as needed, supporting the daily routines, activities, and care needs appropriate to each age group. The staff member will work collaboratively with other staff to promote each child’s physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development. Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of all children in care at all times.
- Adapt to different classrooms and age groups, following established lesson plans, routines, and schedules.
- Provide nurturing care, including feeding, diapering, toileting, and rest routines for infants and toddlers.
- Assist with educational activities, games, and enrichment programs for preschool and school-age children.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
- Support and reinforce positive behavior management strategies.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with children, parents, and staff members.
- Follow all licensing regulations, center policies, and health and safety procedures.
- Observe and document children’s progress and share relevant information with lead teachers or administrators.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
- Provide coverage for breaks, planning periods, or staff absences as assigned.
Requirements:
18 years or older.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Clean background check.
