What are the responsibilities and job description for the Portfolio Analyst position at Legacy Advisors, LLC?
Position Summary: This position is responsible for supporting the Portfolio Manager’s daily tasks and managing/rebalancing client portfolios. The Portfolio Analyst will also provide support to the Portfolio Management team and Legacy’s Client Advisors to further develop our portfolio management capabilities and asset allocation activities. You will play an integral part in helping our clients implement their investment planning strategies to ensure their assets are always aligned with their personal objectives.
Position Responsibilities:
- Core responsibilities will include but not limited to portfolio implementation, rebalancing, ongoing portfolio monitoring, trading, and maintaining asset allocation.
- Assist with maintenance of third-party trading software (RedBlack) and performance reporting (Black Diamond).
- Overseeing the reconciliation of trade orders, settlement and/or operational issues, and mediating with custodians where necessary.
- Work closely with Client Advisors and Portfolio Managers to achieve our client’s wealth management goals and objectives.
- Responsible for capturing and cataloging manager meeting notes and internal discussions.
- Actively monitoring daily market movements and manager performance.
- Assist Portfolio Managers with onboarding, transitioning, modifying and the ongoing management of client investments from conceptualization through construction of client portfolios.
- Assist to update and maintain market and economic related databases.
- Assist with the generation, review, and communication of periodic reports (e.g., transaction, cash flow, portfolio drift) for possible investment implications.
- Maintain global security equivalents list.
- Assist with firm compliance and regulatory reviews.
- Monitor cash balances and periodic money movement to proactively discuss with Client Teams.
Background Requirements/Preferences:
- 3 years of industry related experience
- BA or BS in business, accounting, finance, economics, or computer science
- Working knowledge of marketable security types, including equities, ETFs, mutual funds, individual stocks and bonds, unit trusts, SMAs and Alternative Investments/Limited Partnerships (e.g. Hedge Funds & Private Equity, etc.)
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Suite.
- Experience working in portfolio management/rebalancing software (e.g. RedBlack, Addepar, Tamarac) as well as performance reporting software (e.g. Black Diamond, Orion, Investnet)
- Experience working with Bloomberg and Morningstar to analyze securities.
- Detail-oriented, accurate, organized, able to set priorities and work independently.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-starter, ability to take initiative. Takes ownership of actions and responsibilities.
