Position Summary
The Controller is responsible for overseeing an organization’s accounting and financial reporting functions. This role ensures accurate financial records, effective internal controls, compliance with applicable accounting standards, and timely financial reporting to management.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll oversight.
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
- Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, budgets, and forecasts.
- Maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
- Coordinate external audits and work with outside accountants, tax professionals, and financial institutions.
- Analyze financial results and explain significant variances to management.
- Manage cash flow, reconciliations, and working-capital activities.
- Supervise, train, and develop accounting staff.
- Assist senior leadership with financial planning, strategic analysis, and business decisions.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting systems, and operational efficiency.
- Support implementation and maintenance of accounting software and financial systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA required.
- 10 years of progressive accounting or finance experience, often including management experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
- Experience with accounting/ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
Salary : $150,000 - $160,000
