About the Role:
Lee's Summit Family Eyecare is looking for a friendly and organized Optical Front Desk team member to be the welcoming face of our practice! This is a fantastic opportunity to join a patient-focused eyecare team in Lee's Summit, MO, where every day you'll play a key role in delivering an exceptional experience from the moment patients walk through the door.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and check in patients in a warm, professional manner
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments; follow up on missed appointments; maintain active and cancellation lists using practice management software
- Verify vision insurance benefits
- Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and manage patient communications
- Collect co-pays, process payments, issue receipts
- Maintain and organize patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations
- Coordinate with optometrists, techs and optical staff to ensure smooth patient flow
- Keep the reception area tidy, manage mail, and perform other administrative duties as needed
Requirements:
- Prior experience in an optical, medical, or dental front desk role preferred
- Familiarity with vision insurance plans (VSP, EyeMed, Spectera, etc.) is a plus
- Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficiency with scheduling software and basic computer applications
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and multitasking ability
- Positive, patient-centered attitude and professional appearance
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
