Lee Michaels Fine Jewelry is seeking a Graduate Gemologist (GIA) to support both corporate operations and retail locations. Based out of our Corporate Office in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, this role combines diamond grading, inventory processing, and client-facing work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Grade and sort loose diamonds (color, clarity, cut, carat)
- Process new diamond orders, trade-ins, and buying event merchandise
- Prepare and document items for shipment to manufacturer
- Conduct insurance evaluations at store locations
- Review incoming merchandise and provide descriptions
- Maintain accuracy, quality control, and detailed records
Qualifications:
- GIA Graduate Gemologist required
- Experience in diamond grading and/or appraisals preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Professional, client-focused communication
- Willingness to travel to store locations as needed
