Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during various dental procedures, including general dentistry and endodontics.
- Prepare and maintain the treatment room, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are ready for use.
- Perform aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment.
- Take and develop X-rays as required, adhering to safety protocols.
- Record vital signs and maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
- Manage patient flow and schedule appointments efficiently.
- Handle medical coding for insurance claims as needed.
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure optimal patient care.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
- Knowledge of aseptic technique, vital signs monitoring, medical coding, and general dentistry practices.
- Familiarity with dental software such as Epic is a plus.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Certification in dental assisting or relevant training is an advantage.
