Lee County is seeking a dedicated and hardworking Maintenance Worker to help support daily operations at Mike Greenwell Regional Park. This role is essential to keeping our facilities, event spaces, and grounds safe, clean, and enjoyable for all visitors.

This position plays a hands-on role in maintaining buildings, equipment, landscaping, and event spaces. Whether you already have maintenance experience or are ready to build your skills, we welcome applicants who are motivated and ready to learn.
What You Will Do:
Assist with event setup and breakdown, including moving tables/chairs, unloading/loading pallets, pulling power, and staging equipment
Perform routine custodial tasks such as cleaning windows, disinfecting surfaces, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming
Support event operations by keeping restrooms stocked, cleaning up spills, and removing trash
Empty trash and recycling receptacles throughout the park
Pick up litter and debris throughout the park
Clean and restock restrooms daily or as often as needed
Perform basic building maintenance, including changing light bulbs and ceiling tiles
Monitor and maintain facilities, amenities, and equipment throughout the park
Perform general landscaping tasks such as mowing, trimming, edging, pruning, and watering
Maintain barns, stalls, arena, and show rings
Safely operate equipment such as mowers, floor scrubbers, utility carts, forklifts, trucks, trailers, and tractors
Provide excellent customer service to park visitors, event organizers, and staff
Communicate clearly with supervisors and event organizers to ensure event needs are met
Report safety concerns or damaged equipment promptly
Perform other related duties as assigned
This role requires the ability to work outdoors year-round and safely handle cleaning chemicals and tools.
What We’re Looking For:
- High School diploma, GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Six (6) months of maintenance or closely related experience
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
Related experience may include:
- General maintenance or facility upkeep
- Landscaping, groundskeeping, lawn care
- Custodial or janitorial work
- Parks, recreation center, school, or sports complex experience
- Outdoor labor or construction helper roles
- Barn, stall, or agricultural facility cleaning/maintenance
- Use of hand tools or small equipment
- Customer service roles involving public interaction
- Event support or setup roles
- Volunteer experience involving outdoor or maintenance tasks
Required Certifications (within 6 months of hire):
- First Aid
- CPR
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience operating and maintaining tools and equipment such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, tractors, and similar machinery
- Ability to spray herbicides safely (training provided if needed)
- Ability to guide or oversee support staff
Work Schedule
This position includes variable hours and will require weekdays, weekends, evenings, and some holidays.
