Shop Assistant
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $20-21 per hour
Work Week: Monday - Thursday 7am - 6pm.
About the Role
We are looking for a motivated Shop Assistant to join our team. This is an entry-level position perfect for someone looking to start a career in metal fabrication or machining. You will provide essential support to our machinists and fabricators, ensuring the shop remains organized, safe, and efficient.

Key Responsibilities
- Material Handling: Assist with loading and unloading raw materials (steel, aluminum, etc.) and finished products.
- Shop Maintenance: Maintain a clean and safe workspace by sweeping, disposing of scrap metal, and organizing tools.
- Machine Support: Assist operators with deburring parts, operating saws, and prepping materials for CNC machines or welding stations.
- Quality Control: Perform basic measurements and visual inspections of parts to ensure they meet project specs.
Qualifications
- Experience: You must possess strong mechanical aptitude and an interest in making and fixing things with your hands. Experience operating forklifts is a plus, but not required.
- Technical Skills: Ability to read a tape measure and use basic hand/power tools (grinders, drills, etc.).
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to [50 lbs] regularly.
- Reliability: Strong attendance record and a "safety-first" mindset.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
