Tax Preparer - Contract
Ledgent Finance & Accounting's client is currently seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Tax Preparer for a full-time contract role thru May or June.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and file complex individual and business tax returns, including forms for corporations, S-corps, partnerships, and LLCs.
- Assist clients with tax planning, projections, and strategic guidance.
- Utilize accounting software CCH and QuickBooks to prepare returns and maintain client documentation.
- Resolve client tax issues at both federal and state levels.
- Communicate effectively with clients via email, phone, Zoom, or Teams, ensuring clarity and professionalism.
Qualifications
- 7 years of experience preparing complex individual income tax returns (1040s, all schedules) and estates and trusts (1041) in a CPA firm environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; EA or CPA designation strongly preferred.
- Prior experience with Tax Preparation for small to mid sized companies >$50M
- Experience with book-to-tax adjustments is highly preferred.
- Must be proficient with CCH Axcess / ProSystem and QuickBooks.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and strong collaborative mindset.
