Ledgent Finance & Accounting is partnering with a growing organization seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join its accounting team. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries for month-end close
- Reconcile general ledger accounts, bank accounts, and balance sheet accounts
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes
- Analyze financial transactions and investigate account discrepancies
- Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed
- Prepare account reconciliations and supporting schedules
- Assist with financial reporting and management reporting packages
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures
- Support external audits and provide requested documentation
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance accounting efficiency
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2 years of accounting experience preferred
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and month-end close
- Experience with account reconciliations and journal entries
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP functions
- Experience working with ERP or accounting systems
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
Preferred Skills
- Experience supporting multiple entities, locations, or business units
- Exposure to financial statement preparation
- Knowledge of GAAP principles
- Public accounting experience a plus
