Sr. Accountant

Ledgent Finance & Accounting is seeking a Senior Accountant for a temporary hybrid opportunity in Carlsbad. This role is ideal for a sharp, hands-on accounting professional who can step in quickly, support a busy accounting team, and operate independently in a changing environment.

Position Details:

• Title: Senior Accountant

• Location: Carlsbad, CA

• Schedule: Hybrid, 3 days onsite / 2 days remote

• Pay: $45-$52/hour

• Type: Temporary

• Duration: Expected through the end of September, with possible extension

• Start Date: ASAP

• Hours: Standard business hours, no expected overtime

Responsibilities may include:

• Support general accounting and month-end close activities

• Assist with consolidations-related accounting work

• Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules

• Support financial reporting and account analysis

• Partner with accounting leadership and team members to help maintain deadlines

• Work through accounting requests in a busy, transitional environment

• Identify issues, follow up on discrepancies, and help keep accounting processes moving

• Provide additional accounting support as needed

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of solid accounting experience

• Senior-accountant caliber background with hands-on general accounting experience

• Bachelor's degree required

• Strong understanding of journal entries, reconciliations, close support, and account analysis

• Comfortable working independently while collaborating with a small accounting team

• Able to adapt quickly in a busy and changing environment

• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines

• Must be comfortable with a hybrid schedule in Carlsbad

Nice to Have:

• Consolidations experience

• Public accounting background

• CPA or CPA track

• Workday experience

• BlackLine experience
