Payroll Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented Temporary Payroll Specialist to support payroll operations during a period of increased workload and/or team coverage. This role will be responsible for ensuring accurate, timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The ideal candidate can step in quickly, work independently, and collaborate effectively with HR and Finance teams.

• Process full-cycle or semi-monthly/biweekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees
• Ensure accurate calculation of wages, deductions, bonuses, commissions, and adjustments
• Review and audit payroll data for accuracy prior to submission
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
• Handle payroll tax filings, garnishments, and benefit deductions as needed
• Respond to employee payroll questions and resolve discrepancies promptly
• Partner with HR on new hires, terminations, and payroll-related changes
• Maintain payroll records and documentation in accordance with company policy
  
  

• 2 years of payroll processing experience
• Hands-on experience with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex, UKG, Workday, Ceridian, or similar)
• Strong understanding of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
