About the Role
Ledgent is partnering with a mission-driven nonprofit organization in the Arden area of Sacramento to find a skilled Payroll Administrator to join their team. This is a direct hire opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about supporting impactful work through accurate and efficient payroll processing.
Key Responsibilities
- Process bi-weekly payroll for approximately 400 employees, primarily using Microsoft Excel.
- Maintain and update payroll records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Handle all aspects of payroll including:
- Garnishments
- Bonuses and commissions
- Workers' compensation reporting
- Final paycheck processing
- 401(k) contributions and deductions
- Assist with employee onboarding and terminations, including payroll setup and final pay.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure seamless payroll operations.
- Stay current on payroll laws and compliance requirements.
- Prepare reports and audits as needed for internal and external stakeholders.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong Excel skills are a must, including:
- Writing formulas
- Pivot tables
- VLOOKUP and XLOOKUP
- Sorting and formatting data
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now is a plus (implementation may occur in the near future).
- Minimum of 3 years of payroll experience, preferably in a high-volume environment.
- Familiarity with nonprofit payroll practices is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and confidentiality.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
