What are the responsibilities and job description for the FP & A Consultant/Director position at Ledgent Finance & Accounting?
We're working with a growing organization in search of an experienced FP&A Consultant or Interim Director of FP&A to lead critical financial planning efforts through the end of the year. This is a contract role with potential to extend. This role is fully on-site.
About the Role
This is a hands-on consulting engagement focused on building essential financial planning tools and processes. Reporting directly to executive leadership, you'll drive the creation of the 2026 Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and a 3-year strategic plan, helping shape the company's financial roadmap.
Key Responsibilities
Lead development of the 2026 AOP and 3-year strategic financial plan.
Build and implement planning tools and templates (e.g., departmental budgets, T&E forecasting, headcount planning).
Develop comprehensive P&L schedules including revenue, expenses, and capital planning.
Create and implement a Delegation of Authority framework for executive and board-level approvals.
Partner with senior leaders to align financial plans with strategic goals.
What We're Looking For
Senior-level FP&A experience, ideally at the Director level or higher.
Strong background in building AOPs and long-range financial models from the ground up.
Advanced Excel skills (macros not required).
Experience with Sage X3 is a plus, but not required.
Ability to bring or create planning tools and templates.
Comfortable working independently and managing complex deliverables in a fast-paced environment.

Hourly Pay Rate: $60-$89, depending on experience.
Tools: Advanced Excel required; Sage X3 preferred; Power BI not required.
