What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bookkeeper position at Ledgent Finance & Accounting?
Role Overview
We are seeking a detail‑oriented hands‑on Accountant/Bookkeeper to take full ownership of day‑to‑day accounting operations. This person will be the sole accounting resource and will help stabilize and clean up the books during a transition from a previous accountant, including some knowledge transfer.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage AP and AR: invoicing, coding, matching, collections, and resolving past‑due balances
- Ensure timely payment of bills and maintain accurate vendor records
- Review and troubleshoot existing auto‑pay and ACH setups; establish new ACH processes as needed
- Perform accounting clean‑up and forensic review to ensure books are accurate and current
- Maintain orderly financial records and support A‑Z accounting functions
Required Qualifications
- QuickBooks Online required (Desktop experience acceptable)
- Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and lookups
- Proven experience handling A‑Z accounting independently
- Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and deadline driven
- Prior experience with accounting clean‑up or transition projects strongly preferred
