Worship Technology Manager
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
The Worship Technology Manager is responsible for overseeing the audio, visual, livestream, and multimedia elements of worship services, events, and other church activities. This position involves managing AV equipment, leading technical team members, coordinating with worship leaders and other staff, and ensuring smooth technical operations for all services and events. This position is a part-time (approx. 8-10 hours per week) position reporting to the Worship and Music Director.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A heart for worship, ministry, people, and technology. A degree in Audio Engineering, Media Production, or a related field is preferred. At least 5 years of experience in AV management, technical production, or a similar role. Experience in a church or worship setting is a plus. A willingness to continually grow in knowledge and skills related to audio-visual technology and church worship practices. Must also possess the following skill set: technical skills, leadership, problem-solving, organizational, communication, and time management. The ability to lift heavy equipment and to stand or kneel for extended periods of time is a must.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
1. Oversee and provide all audio/visual support for every service and event held in both worship spaces (Sanctuary and Ark), ensuring smooth, reliable, and high-quality technical execution. (30 %)
2. Oversee and maintain all audio and visual equipment, including microphones, soundboards, projectors, screens, and lighting systems. This includes routine checks and troubleshooting to ensure AV equipment is working effectively. (10%)
3. Ensure that all equipment is properly set up, tested, and calibrated for each service or event. Provide status reports of sound system equipment failures within 24 hours of occurrence to the Worship and Music Director. Perform minor equipment maintenance as needed and coordinate any necessary repairs, upgrades, and replacements of AV equipment, ensuring that the system stays current and functional. (10%)
4. Recruit, schedule, manage, train, and care for the volunteer audio/visual, live stream operators (e.g., sound operators, camera operators, lighting technicians, presentation software operators) to ensure coverage for both services each week and for all special events, as coordinated with the Worship and Music Director. Through attitude, example, and supervision, make volunteering a positive experience for all involved. (20%)
5. Facilitate, with the Director of Worship and Music and the Visual Systems Coordinator, an annual training event for all volunteer audio/visual operators. (5%)
6. Coordinate set-up and take-down of all audio/visual equipment needed for rehearsals, worship services, and special events. (10%)
7. Provide technical support for worship and music teams, including sound, lighting, video projections, and live streaming during rehearsals, services, and events. (10%)
8. Assist the Worship and Music Director in budgeting for AV and live stream-related expenses, including equipment purchases, maintenance, and upgrades. Research and recommend new technology or AV and live stream solutions to improve the worship experience. Manage inventory of AV supplies and equipment, ensuring stock is maintained and properly stored. (5%)

This is a part-time, exempt position.
