RESIDENCY POLICY
Residency is defined as the place where ones primary residence is
located. The boundaries
for Leavenworth County employees incorporate adjacent counties to
include: Wyandotte,
Johnson, Douglas, Jefferson, and Atchison Counties in Kansas and Platte
County, Missouri.
Certain departments within the County may have more stringent
requirements for residency
such as the Sheriffs Department and Emergency Medical Services. Any
exception to this
residency requirement must be specifically approved by the BOCC.

Percentage Of Time Accountabilities
90% 1. Perform Drivers License Renewals
10% 2. Help with other office tasks as needed
SCOPE
The employee must be able to perform using initiative and independent
judgment. This position
computes, collects and documents processing of drivers licenses. The
employee in this position is
frequently expected to act independently answering citizen inquires,
identifying fraudulent documents
and work on other County Treasurer functions as needed. Maintains good
working ethic in the office
and provides courteous, accurate, efficient customer service creating a
favorable impression as a
representative of the county.
Knowledge And Skills
1\. Ability to convey and receive detailed information and instructions
to and from others.
2\. Be self-motivated and to function independently and perform under
stressful situations.
3\. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
with other employees and
the public.
4\. Skill in the operation of office equipment.
5\. Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of communication,
convey and receive detailed
or important information and instructions to and from the general
public.
6\. Ability to read and interpret documents such as State of Kansas
guidelines, regulations, and

4\. Must have good customer service skills
ILLUSTRATIVE TASKS (This is not an inclusive list, other tasks/duties
may be assigned.)
1\. Completes training required by the State to perform duties.
2\. Processes Drivers License renewals, address changes, etc.
3\. Answers the telephone and addresses questions and concerns from the
public and/or directs
the public to the correct department.
4\. Receipts and records fees collected.
5\. Uses a computer to enter information into an automated centralized
accounting system and
verifies accuracy of input; process information in accordance with state
statutes, departmental
policies and procedures.
6\. Handles, records and transfers transactions of money.
7\. Utilizes and interfaces information from multiple state and county
software.
