Dog Trainer
Leash Drop Canine — Bridgeport, Chicago
Leash Drop Canine is hiring a dependable, entry-level Dog Trainer to join our facility. This is a hands-on role for someone serious about building a career in professional dog training — you'll work directly with dogs, learn our handling standards, and be evaluated on reliability, safety, and coachability from day one.
Qualifications:
- Must have availability around major holidays
- Speak English fluently
- Must be 21 years or older
- A passion for animals and animal care, especially dogs — show love and respect for them
- Knowledge or experience in dog handling; comfortable with dogs of all sizes and temperaments
- Reliable, punctual, and responsible
- Friendly, positive attitude and ability to multitask effectively
- Professionalism in communication and personal appearance
- Coachable, calm under pressure, professional with clients
Responsibilities:
- Observing training sessions and learning our handling standards
- Assisting with group classes and Board & Train dogs
- Learning professional training mechanics and client-facing professionalism
- Prioritizing timely pottying of dogs assigned each shift
- Light kennel upkeep — monitoring dogs for accidents, basic crate cleanup as needed
Required Qualifications:
- Reliable transportation and consistent attendance
- Able to handle large, strong dogs safely
- Able to stand/walk/lift (up to ~50 lbs) throughout a shift
- Comfortable with basic animal cleanup as part of a hands-on facility
Position Type:
