What are the responsibilities and job description for the Collections Manager position at Lease & LaBau, Inc.?
As of June 4th, a highly successful law firm seeks an experienced Collections Manager to join the New York office. The person in this role will:
- Meet regularly with attorneys and firm leadership to discuss collections strategies, accounts receivable reports, and outstanding balances.
- Implement process improvements and new procedures in order to maintain a highly effective work environment.
- Handle adjustments or write offs, conduct reconciliations, process credits, and apply unallocated amounts.
- Monitor delinquent accounts and escalate these matters to the attention of specific attorneys or management.
- Communicate regularly with clients regarding unpaid amounts and payment plans.
- Respond to client inquiries or disputes.
Requirements:
- 5 years of collections experience in a law firm or professional services setting.
- Effective leadership and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to be successful in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work overtime to meet the demands of the position.
- Previous experience with a legal accounting software such as Elite or Aderant.
