What You'll Do Day-to-Day
- Deliver targeted academic, behavioral, and social-emotional interventions to students in Grades 2-7.
- Support students individually and in small groups using evidence-based instructional and behavioral practices.
- Implement intervention plans and accommodations aligned with student needs and educational goals.
- Collect, monitor, and analyze student progress data to inform instructional decisions and intervention effectiveness.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and Student Support Services staff to identify barriers to learning and develop appropriate supports.
- Help students develop executive functioning, self-regulation, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Support positive behavior strategies and foster safe, inclusive learning environments.
- Participate in Planning and Placement Team (PPT) meetings, intervention planning discussions, and family collaboration when appropriate.
- Prepare instructional materials, maintain accurate documentation, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with students and families to promote student engagement, resilience, and success.
- Associate's degree, completion of at least 60 college credits, or Bachelor's degree required; or High School Diploma with ParaPro certification.
- Experience working with elementary and middle school students preferred.
- Experience supporting students with academic, behavioral, social-emotional, or executive functioning needs preferred.
- Knowledge of intervention strategies, behavior supports, and data collection practices preferred.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in a school setting.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when necessary.
- Ability to successfully complete required de-escalation and restraint training.
