Welder

Leapros Skilled Trades is actively hiring Welder in Charlotte, NC. The Welder will be responsible for providing critical support during the installation of a chiller system by performing high-quality pipe welding and fabrication. This role requires a skilled tradesperson capable of interpreting technical drawings and ensuring that all welds meet strict structural and safety standards within a fast-paced MEP environment.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $30 to $35 Per Hour BOE

Responsibilities:

• Perform precise welding and pipe fabrication to assist in the installation of industrial chiller systems.
• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specification documents to determine project requirements.
• Utilize various measuring, locating, and testing tools to ensure accurate alignment and fitment.
• Inspect all completed welds relative to standard acceptance criteria to ensure quality and safety.
• Coordinate with the mechanical team to facilitate the proper placement and connection of chiller components.
• Maintain and safely operate welding equipment, hand tools, and power tools necessary for the trade.
• Follow all site-specific safety protocols and OSHA standards to maintain a secure work environment.
• Assist in the manual handling and positioning of piping and mechanical equipment as needed.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 18-24 months of professional welding experience, preferably in an MEP or industrial setting.
• Proven ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and piping specifications.
• Experience with pipe fabrication and installation techniques relevant to large-scale HVAC systems.
• Strong knowledge of welding quality requirements and various metal joining processes.
• Ability to work effectively on a contract basis both independently and as part of a specialized team.
• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent vocational training.

Physical Requirements:

• Must have excellent manual dexterity, balance, and hand-eye coordination for precision work.
• Capable of lifting and carrying materials and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand, kneel, stoop, and walk for extended periods during the installation process.
• Comfortable working in industrial environments which may include exposure to noise and dust.
• Must be able to navigate ladders and work in confined mechanical spaces if required.

Pay Transparency:

The anticipated pay range for this position is $30 to $35 per hour, based on relevant factors such as experience, skills, education, internal equity, and geographic location. Final compensation will be determined during the interview process by the hiring authority.
