Responsibilities:
- Installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of various cabling infrastructure
- Installation of IP cameras, specifically Axis.
- Run low voltage cabling in commercial buildings, including drilling concrete walls and limited conduit work.
- Ensuring all cables are neatly tied and bundled according to safety regulations.
- Installing of cable support structures such as j-hooks, cable racks, and innerduct.
- Repairing cable poles and towers.
- Conduct tests to ensure all newly installed cables systems and component devices are operational.
- Troubleshoot issues with cable networks to ensure the proper functioning and to ensure the system meets local, county, state, or federal codes; legal and/or insurance requirements
- Provide general cleaning on raised floor, cabinet/rack exterior surfaces, work benches and other areas as needed on a regular basis
- Support standard and emergency operating procedures for data center.
- Provide status reporting regarding Data Center service availability, performance, capacity utilization as required
- Daily error log reporting and physical DC inspections for general health, power, cooling, hazards, etc.
- Coordinates equipment installation and delivery schedules in accordance with set project plans
- On-Call duties as needed
- No less than 3 yrs exp as a Low Voltage Tech
- Commercial experience (Healthcare, Financial Institutions, Education)
- CAT5e, CAT6e, fiber optic, (Terminations of fiber required) and network experience.
- Experience reading blueprints and site maps.
- Experience in CCTV, voice, and data cabling.
- Knowledgeable in closeouts and MDF/IDF buildouts
- Security Systems, and Alarm Systems is a plus.
- Experience in conduit installation is a plus.
- Must pass 10-panel DS and pass Criminal BG
- Must be able to sit, stand, talk or hear, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, stretch, twist, and/or reach out for prolonged periods of time.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds at waist height for short distances, and occasionally up to 75 pounds.
- Overhead lifting: Must be able to occasionally lift 50 pounds overhead for short distances.
- Must be able to push, pull and move up to 75 pounds at shoulder height.
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to use tools.
- Must be able to regularly carry and climb ladders up to 20 feet.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Ability to use a computer and/or hand tools while sitting or standing for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to see and distinguish different colors, read small print and hear and recognize audible signals such as dial tones.
- Must know the universal communications color codes.
- Must be able to work in tight, confided spaces at times.
- Must be able to travel within territory as needed.
- Must be aware of OSHA safety standards.
- Noise levels are typically moderate.
