Job Summary:
The EH&S Coordinator II is responsible for fostering a proactive safety culture at heavy industrial sites, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements. This mid-level role focuses on identifying hazards, conducting training, and performing incident investigations to safeguard the well-being of the workforce in Cheyenne, WY.
Responsibilities:
- Implement and enforce company safety protocols and Site Safety Plans (SSP) in alignment with OSHA and MSHA regulations.
- Conduct regular site audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure corrective actions are documented.
- Facilitate safety training programs, including new hire orientations, hazard awareness, and specialized equipment safety.
- Lead incident investigations to determine root causes and implement strategies to prevent future occurrences.
- Maintain comprehensive safety documentation and reporting using safety management software.
- Serve as a primary point of communication between site operations and the health and safety department.
- Ensure all on-site employees possess required industry-specific certifications and training.
- Monitor and manage workers' compensation claims and coordinate with medical providers for injured personnel.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a safety-focused role within heavy industrial construction, pipeline, or refining environments.
- In-depth working knowledge of OSHA regulations and applicable safety codes.
- Demonstrated ability to perform detailed incident investigations and root cause analyses.
- Experience conducting risk assessments, such as Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with field employees and management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with safety management software.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to traverse uneven terrain on industrial job sites and navigate construction environments.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, reach, stoop, and kneel for extended periods.
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) for long durations.
- Occasional lifting of safety equipment or materials up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and industrial environments.
