The Role at a Glance
As a Residential HVAC Installer, you will lead or support the physical replacement and new installation of residential heating, cooling, and duct systems. You will transform a customer's home comfort by removing old equipment and cleanly retrofitting new, high-efficiency systems. This role is perfect for a detail-oriented professional who loves hands-on problem-solving and building things from the ground up.
Schedule Expectation: Standard daytime installation shifts with regular overtime opportunities to maximize your paycheck. (Note: This role does not typically require the heavy on-call rotation of our service department).
Key Responsibilities
Carefully remove old residential HVAC units (furnaces, air handlers, heat pumps, and ACs) and install brand-new, energy-efficient replacements.
Fabricate, modify, and transition sheet metal or flexible ductwork to ensure seamless system airflow.
Connect line voltage, low-voltage wiring, gas piping, and refrigerant lines safely and according to local building codes.
Walk the homeowner through their newly installed system, demonstrating thermostat operations and ensuring complete 5-star satisfaction before leaving the job site.
What We Look For
Mechanical Skills: Solid experience with sheet metal transitions, brazing refrigerant lines, and running gas pipe.
Teamwork: Ability to collaborate closely with an installation helper to complete jobs efficiently and safely.
Customer Focus: A clean, professional presentation and the ability to treat a customer’s home with total respect.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license with a clean driving record, and eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Bonus Points: EPA Universal Certification or specialized residential installation certifications.
Physical Requirements
Ability to handle the physical demands of installation, including lifting, carrying, and maneuvering heavy equipment (up to 100 lbs) with assistance.
Comfortable working in attics, crawlspaces, and outdoor environments under varying weather conditions.
Ability to safely ascend and descend ladders while handling tools and materials.
Local travel up to 75% of the day to get to and from residential installation sites.
