Overview
This role oversees new store builds, remodels, site development, and construction timelines across a growing portfolio of retail and restaurant locations. The Construction Manager leads projects from pre-construction through turnover, ensuring speed, quality, and budget discipline. This role requires strong familiarity with the Phoenix metro area and surrounding markets, including local permitting processes, municipalities, contractors, and utilities.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage multiple ground-up and tenant-improvement projects simultaneously across the Phoenix area and nearby markets.
• Oversee contractors, subcontractors, and third-party partners to ensure work meets brand standards and local code requirements.
• Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and milestone tracking for each site.
• Conduct frequent site visits across the region to monitor progress, identify issues, and maintain quality and timelines.
• Navigate permitting, inspections, and jurisdictional requirements specific to Phoenix and surrounding municipalities.
• Coordinate utilities, signage, equipment installations, and close-out documentation.
• Collaborate with real estate, operations, architects, and design teams to align on layouts and build-out specifications.
• Review construction documents, drawings, and change orders to protect timeline and financial outcomes.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with local GCs, subs, and vendors throughout the Phoenix area.
• Support new market development by assessing sites, estimating build costs, and advising leadership on feasibility.
Requirements
• 5 plus years of construction management experience within multi-unit retail, franchise, restaurant, or hospitality environments.
• Strong expertise in ground-up builds and fast-paced tenant improvements.
• Deep understanding of Phoenix-area permitting, inspections, zoning, utilities, and contractor networks.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects across different cities in the region.
• Skilled in budgeting, scheduling, vendor management, and contractor negotiations.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural plans and construction documents.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Strong project management discipline and ability to operate in a rapidly expanding environment.
• Willingness to travel frequently throughout the Phoenix metro area and surrounding markets.
Compensation
Competitive base salary with performance incentives. Regional travel reimbursed.
Salary : $100,000 - $130,000
