Position Summary:

The Member Engagement team drives high-quality, high-impact experiences that support the growth and civic leadership of LEE members. This includes new member onboarding, virtual and in-person events, and customized programming aligned with member interests and needs.

The Director, Member Engagement Facilitation (Temporary) will support this work by facilitating direct engagement with members through events, consultative planning with partners, and post-event analysis. This includes participating in intake and co-planning conversations, leading in-person and virtual events, connecting members to LEE’s resources and coaching opportunities, and capturing member engagement data.

This is a highly adaptive role that supports the delivery of member programming across different formats and member segments based on organizational needs. Facilitators are expected to prepare effectively using LEE-provided materials, collaborate with staff partners to ensure high-quality experiences, and record data and learning reflections in a timely manner.

This is a part-time, temporary position with variable hours. Expect to work approximately 12–15 hours for each assigned event, including preparation, facilitation, and wrap-up. While work assignments are not guaranteed, LEE anticipates facilitators will lead an average of 1–2 events per quarter. Local travel within your region is required for in-person events. This temporary position will end on May 29, 2025.

Responsibilities:

Direct Member Engagement (In-person, virtual, and digital) (9 hr/ event)

  • Participate in intake and co-planning conversations with LEE staff and partner organizations in order to inform session plans and prep materials

  • Facilitate in-person and virtual events for future and current members

  • Participate in outreach strategy for turnout to events (i.e., call, text, etc.)

  • Guide members to the best-fit LEE resources, supports, and opportunities, including electoral and policy coaching

Engagement Planning and Tools (3hr/ event)

  • Utilize data and planning systems such as Salesforce, Tableau, Asana, and Google Sheets to input and track member engagement data

  • Analyze event results and input into LEE systems within five business days of an event

  • Leverage LEE facilitator guides and deck in preparation for sessions; participate in prep/run-throughs and support delivery for sessions and programming

Team Collaboration (As requested)

  • Collaborate with team to learn more about the context of the facilitation and/or share learnings

Special Projects (0-2 hr/ event, as requested)

  • Lead or contribute to team-level, organization-wide, or cross-team special projects as assigned by manager or designee

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or commensurate work experience (If you do not hold a Bachelor’s degree an additional 4 years of relevant experience is required. If you hold an Associate’s degree an additional 2 years of relevant experience is required.)

  • 5 years relevant professional experience including facilitating learning opportunities for adults

  • Demonstrated ability to plan strategically, prioritize time, and manage implementation of plans in fast-moving, changeable environments

  • Demonstrated consultative orientation, with ability to execute on intake needs and co-design experiences with internal and external stakeholders

  • Currently reside in the outlined regions found in the location requirements for the role with a willingness to travel in-person to regional events

  • Proven ability to build and leverage relationships with diverse audiences and partners

  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate within a geographically dispersed team

  • Strong, demonstrated commitment to LEE’s mission, core values, and theory of change

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Civic leadership experience that could include politics/campaigns, policy, advocacy, and/or community organizing

  • Demonstrated experience effectively working and coaching across lines of difference

  • Fluency in Google Suite

  • Spanish language skills are needed for the following regions: Los Angeles, Bay Area, Houston, Boston (and surrounding areas), Phoenix, and Denver

Physical Requirements & Work Demands:

  • The person in this position may need to occasionally move about inside the office to liaise with staff or access office equipment.

  • The person in this position will need to have the ability to travel to in-person meetings in various U.S. cities.

  • Occasional evening and/or weekend work is required.

Pay and Benefits

The position level for this role is Director 1 and the corresponding hourly pay range for this position is $39.28-$59.19. Pay is competitive and based upon relevant experience and cost of labor for your location.
