Canteen Custodian

Location: Mooresville, IN

We are seeking a confident, outgoing, and highly proactive Canteen Custodian to take ownership of the day-to-day cleanliness, organization, and overall condition of a busy construction site canteen.

This is not a position for someone who waits to be told what to do. We are looking for a self-starter and take-charge personality who notices what needs attention, handles it, and takes pride in maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for everyone on site.

The right person will be comfortable interacting with a variety of personalities throughout the day and will be able to communicate professionally and assertively when needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the overall cleanliness and organization of the site canteen
• Clean and sanitize tables, counters, seating areas, appliances, and other common surfaces
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors throughout the canteen
• Empty trash and replace liners throughout the day
• Keep high-traffic and frequently touched areas clean and sanitary
• Monitor the canteen throughout the shift and address cleaning needs proactively
• Restock paper products, cleaning supplies, and other canteen necessities
• Maintain an organized supply and storage area
• Identify issues before they become problems and take appropriate action
• Communicate professionally with employees, supervisors, and site personnel
• Help ensure employees using the canteen are respectful of the shared space
• Report maintenance, supply, or safety concerns promptly
• Follow all site safety requirements and PPE policies
• Perform other canteen-related duties as needed

• Able to communicate effectively in English to understand safety instructions, communicate with site personnel, and perform the essential duties of the position
• Comfortable working in an active construction-site environment
• Able to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform cleaning duties throughout the shift

Previous cafeteria, canteen, commercial kitchen, janitorial, hospitality, or high-volume facility cleaning experience is a strong plus.
