What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Outreach Specialist position at Lead For America?
The STRONG Accountable Care Community (STRONG ACC) is a coalition of 400 organizations improving physical, social, and economic health in Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. In partnership with the American Connection Corps (ACC) through Lead For America, we’re seeking a full-time ACC Member to strengthen digital inclusion, workforce development, and community connection efforts across the region.
What You’ll Do
- Build partnerships with local businesses, nonprofits, and government agencies to expand broadband access and digital literacy.
- Support youth and workforce development programs that connect residents to training and job opportunities.
- Organize community events, facilitate engagement, and share resources that strengthen local networks.
- Conduct outreach and data collection to identify needs and measure impact.
- Help share STRONG ACC’s story through social media, newsletters, and community updates.
What We’re Looking For
- Passion for rural development, digital equity, and community engagement.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment.
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience preferred.
