Role Overview:
This is an exciting opportunity to join Lea County Electric Cooperative as an Electrical Engineer. You will be responsible for analyzing and improving the performance of our electrical distribution system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive system analysis to identify opportunities for optimization.
- Collaborate with our team to analyze load flow, short circuit scenarios, and relaying schemes.
- Develop voltage, arc flash, and coordination studies to optimize the distribution network.
- Anticipate and identify future system upgrades to align with increased loads and business expansion.
Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- A Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
- Proficiency in electronic spreadsheets, word processing, and database management tools.
- Strong mathematical skills in trigonometry, calculus, algebra, and analytic geometry.
- Knowledge of Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories products or similar equipment (preferred).
- A valid New Mexico driver's license with a willingness to comply with drug testing policies.
- Familiarity with NERC, FERC, and experience with SPP (considered a bonus).
- Excellent problem-solving, time management, and communication skills.
Compensation:
Our salary range is between $60,000 and $115,606 per year, based on your experience. Additionally, you'll receive a comprehensive benefits package.
