Payroll Specialist

Our Payroll Specialist will compile and record employee time and payroll data. May compute employees' time worked, production and commissions. May compute and post wages and deductions or prepare paychecks. Job Description Benefits: 401K with match 2 weeks vacation Health, Dental, and vision Essential Functions Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports Manage work flow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely Perform daily payroll department operations Understand proper taxation of employer paid benefits Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance Execute time sheets and attendance processing and interface with payroll Perform compliance for unclaimed property payroll checks Process manual check and relocation metrics Research and email appropriate audience of file issues Process accurate and timely year-end reporting when necessary Resolve payroll issues via ticketing system (ServiceNow) Knowledge and Skills Workday payroll processing experience is required (2 years) Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus Union knowledgeable Working knowledge of payroll best practices Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations Strong PC skills including proficiency in Excel Strong work ethic and team player Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material Strong interpersonal communication skills Ability to communicate with various levels of management Decision-making Problem-solving Analytical skills Organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills Education and Work Experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred 5 years of experience in multi state payroll Work Environment Small-to-large office environment Fast paced office environment The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate Exposed to a combination of normal office type environments and shop environments Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
