What are the responsibilities and job description for the CLERK-TYPIST position at Le Roy Central School District?
Le Roy Central School District is seeking a dedicated professional for a clerk-typist vacancy. The position of Clerk-Typist is established for the purpose(s) of providing a variety of secretarial support to the Jr./Sr. High School Guidance Department, as well as the Athletic Director, district website management and SchoolTool (student data management system).
This position is a 12 month position and starting pay is based on a pre-determined contractual rate and is commensurate with experience. This is a Genesee County Civil Service position. This position is included in the NYS Civil Service Hiring Emergency Limited Placement Program (HELP) and will not be a tested position if hired prior to 6/30/26.
Job Qualifications
The Ideal Candidate should have the following minimum qualifications:
- Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma recognized by the NYS Department of Education, including or supplemented by a course in typing; or
- Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma recognized by the NYS Department of Education, and six (6) months of full-time, paid clerical experience in which typing was required.
In addition, the successful applicant should possess:
- working knowledge of office terminology;
- ability to maintain strict confidentiality;
- ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions;
- knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google applications;
- ability to get along well with others with exceptional public relations skills;
- ability to create and keep records and prepare reports;
- knowledge of SchoolTool and/or website management a plus.
