Summary: Works independently, managing direct reports’ daily routine responsibilities and duties. Manages delivery, merchandising functions of all personnel in assigned territories in accordance with strict LDF and supplier standards. Supports delivery staff in the event Relief Driver is already assigned delivery duties. Directs the training and development of assigned personnel to meet LDF Sales & Distributing, Inc. standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Stock assigned accounts and straighten up back stock in the larger accounts.
2. Assist Distribution Manager in maintaining equipment. Take equipment in to get serviced or repaired.
3. In conjunction with Distribution Manager ensures Employee Seven Promises are met with all new employees. Responsible for training new employees on servicing accounts, check-in and check-out procedures and help them to obtain their CDL.
4. Works with assigned drivers to develop their skills and ensure that daily activities are performed safely, and correctly. When doing a work-with, they should be checking to make sure that the driver is properly rotating, stocking, and performing all job responsibilities to LDF Standards.
5. Manage the successful completion of daily delivery routes ensuring that all invoices are collected and no outstanding invoices are left uncollected.
6. Checks to make sure that all assigned drivers sign for load sheet and verify number of carts and curtains.
7. Reviews driver stop sheet daily. Contact Distribution Manager or Area Manager if accounts are missing.
8. Communicates daily giving verbal direction and support including performing delivery function in the absence of a driver or relief driver that would include collecting payments, checks or money orders. Provides customer with a complete and accurate invoice of transaction for product sold and any credit adjustments and assumes responsibility for correct deposit of same.
9. Stock and rotates all existing and delivered products on shelves and back stock. Sets up all promotional displays as assigned by specific salesperson. Adds and replaces all POS material as directed via daily palm communication.
10. Maintains positive and professional attitude to ensure consistent customer service and employee relations. Responds to customers’ requests quickly and courteously.
11. Monitors assigned drivers are employing safeguards for assigned company products, inventory, vehicles, and equipment from theft, abuse, or loss.
12. Reports market trends and competitive activity to supervisor and recommends response, if appropriate.
13. Checks to make sure that close-to-code, out-of-date and breakage gets put in the proper area after check-in procedure is completed.
14. Ensures assigned drivers are adhering to company policy, the LDF Fleet Safety guidelines and complying with DOT regulations.
15. Ensures assigned drivers are checking vehicle fluid levels daily and reporting any maintenance or performance problems. This includes maintaining the cab in a clean and neat manner, free from trash and debris.
16. Assures supplier, and LDF Quality Assurance standards and procedures are strictly followed.
17. All other assignments as required by Distribution Manager
Qualifications: Completion of Company training program. Possess in-depth knowledge of company products, policies, procedures, and operations. Possess in-depth knowledge of every brand and package sold and benefits of each product. Knowledge of state laws regarding the sale of alcohol. Possess grooming and hygiene practices consistent with maintaining good customer relations. Must have good time management and verbal and written interpersonal skills. A minimum of two years delivery or sales experience with LDF Sales & Distributing, Inc. or other related direct delivery service.
Education/Experience: High school degree or equivalent.
Language Ability: Interpersonal skills to deal with customers effectively and in a professional, business-like manner. Possess the ability to communicate and motivate others.
Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Computer Skills: Ability to understand the basic operation of hand held units and associated hardware.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense of understanding to carry out specific written and oral instructions and deal with related problems. Basic decision making ability.
Certificates and Licenses: A valid CDL, DOT medical card, and ABLE permit (Oklahoma), or like credentials depending on state requirements for selling products containing alcohol and a very clean driving record.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises and provides daily feedback to subordinates on work productivity, sales responsibilities, customer relations, company procedures daily and to receive input from subordinates. Directs the training, enforces company policy when required including disciplinary action. Conducts employee performance evaluations as outlined by Company policy.
Work Environment: Driving company vehicle and on customer premises Tuesday – Friday from 5:30 a.m. to approximately 5:00 p.m. Schedule is flexible depending on completion of daily assigned duties, business requirements, holidays and inclement weather.

Heavy work. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Requires continuous standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, routine and repetitive pushing/pulling 150-500 lbs., and lifting/carrying 26-50 pounds and occasionally up to 160 pounds. Individual must be physically capable of occasionally moving product into and out of customers’ establishments in large volumes in a relatively short period of time. Employee is exposed to outside weather conditions and deals with sudden temperature changes when entering and exiting refrigerated coolers. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus to read information on electronic devices and on paper, and to operate a motor vehicle. Continuous jostling from riding and driving a truck.
