Maintenance Handyman

Job Summary:

The Facility Maintenance Handyman is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure that the facilities are safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing. This role includes minor repairs and troubleshooting equipment such as the hand sanitizer dispenser, paper towel dispenser, and issues related to basic plumbing and basic carpentry.

Key Responsibilities:

• General Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and report to management describing any building issues found during the inspection.
• Be specific about the problem, including the affected components, systems, or areas. (HVAC, plumbing and electrical)
• Repairs: Conduct minor repairs such as fixing leaks, repairing or escalating problems.
• Carpentry: Handle basic carpentry tasks such as building and repairing furniture, cabinets, and shelving units.
• Plumbing: Address minor plumbing issues such as unclogging drains, fixing leaks.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other maintenance staff and departments to coordinate activities and ensure efficient operations.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in facility maintenance, repair, or a related field.
• Skills: Basic carpentry, plumbing, and general building maintenance.
• Technical Knowledge: Understanding of building systems and maintenance procedures. Ability to use a computer and smart phone for communication
• Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Physical Ability: Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, climbing, and working in various conditions.
• Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills.

Working Conditions:

• Environment: Work is performed both indoors.
• Physical Demands: Requires the ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and perform tasks that require physical exertion.
• Schedule: May require occasional evening and weekends to address emergency maintenance needs.
