Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression and providing excellent patient service.
- Schedule appointments efficiently using medical scheduling software (eCW)
- Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification to facilitate smooth billing processes.
- Collect and posting payments with accuracy and professionalism.
- Manage patient check-in/check-out procedures, including updating demographic information in EMR (eCW).
- Maintain accurate and organized medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and health information management standards.
- Handle multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, directing calls appropriately and taking detailed messages when necessary.
- Assist with medical office management tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining office supplies.
- Support clinical staff by coordinating patient intake processes and preparing necessary documentation for appointments.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA guidelines during all patient interactions and documentation review processes.
- Perform clerical duties such as typing reports, managing filing systems, and supporting front desk operations to keep the clinic running smoothly.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar medical office administrative support role is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, eClinicalWorks, Dentrix, or Eaglesoft.
- Familiarity with medical billing procedures including medical collection practices and insurance verification processes.
- Understanding of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-10), CPT coding, Medicare guidelines, and HIPAA compliance standards.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly and professionally.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) along with basic typing skills (10 key typing preferred).
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation review and data entry accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36 per week
