A Loan Servicer II manages the daily administration of mortgage loan activities after closing, acting as the primary point of contact for members and investors. Key duties focus in the mortgage servicing realm, of ensuring regulatory compliance of escrow accounts, payment activity, payoff demands, investor reporting, and the timely completion of assigned tasks while following the credit union policies and procedures. Maintain a high-performing professional approach with members, staff, and vendor partners, while delivering excellent member service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all servicing adheres to DFPI, NCUA, and CFPB regulations, including Reg X RESPA, Reg Z Truth-in-Lending Act, HMDA reporting, and bankruptcy/forbearance procedures.
- Daily Servicing Operations: Manage payment posting, payoff demands, lien releases, ARM rate adjustments, and tax/insurance escrow disbursements.
- Data & System Management: Maintain index rate values and generate daily/annual reports using FICS, Pentaho, and DSUI and Corelation systems.
- Secondary Market Support: Facilitate the sale of loans to investors, ensuring 100% data accuracy during export/import and the secure delivery of legal documents to custodians.
- Document Control: Oversee the file room workflow, including the organization of trailing documents (deeds, titles, notes) and securing confidential files.
- Team & Operational Support: Assist the overall residential lending team with processing, pre-funding audits, and general operations to ensure departmental efficiency.
- Professional Training: Maintain system proficiency (Fannie Mae/FICS) and complete all annual compliance and internal training requirements.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE PREREQUISITES
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Three or more years of mortgage loan servicing background preferred.
- Ability to apply critical thinking skills, solving complex problems and make logical decisions without constant supervision.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, mortgage loan servicing system; FICS Mortgage Servicer a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and excellent verbal/written communication skills.
- Regulatory knowledge of RESPA, PMI Cancellation, and escrow procedures.

PAY RANGE
In accordance with California’s Pay Transparency Act, the expected salary range for this position is between:
$28.00 - $ 34.00
Actual pay will be determined based on a candidate’s specific qualifications, including their knowledge, skills, education and experience, internal equity consideration, as well as other job-related factors permitted by law.
