What are the responsibilities and job description for the Host(ess) position at Layered?
Duties:
- Greet and welcome guests as they arrive at the Restaurant
- Escort guests to their tables and provide them with menus
- Assist guests with seating arrangements and accommodate special requests
- Answer phone calls and take reservations using the Open Table system
- Maintain a clean and organized host/host station
- Collaborate with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth operations
- Provide excellent guest service by addressing any inquiries or concerns
- Manage waitlists and estimate wait times accurately
Experience:
- Previous experience in a hospitality or customer service role is preferred
- Familiarity with Toast POS or Open Table systems is a plus
- Strong phone etiquette and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent guest relations skills, including the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
