Lawyers On Demand, a Consilio company is actively recruiting for a temporary, Payroll Specialist (ADP) for an onsite position (for training, then hybrid after) for a prestigious law firm client in Kansas City, MO.
Location: Kansas City, MO
Schedule: Onsite Monday–Friday during training; then hybrid (3 days in-office / 2 days remote)
Duration: Approximately 2 months
Role Snapshot
Join the team to provide short-term, high-impact payroll support—ensuring accurate, timely pay while maintaining strict confidentiality. Reporting to the Accounting Services Manager, this role focuses on processing, reconciliation, reporting, and employee support, following established controls and compliance standards.
What You’ll Do
- Run regular and off-cycle payroll with precision and on deadline.
- Calculate and record deductions (taxes, benefits, garnishments).
- Validate totals across earnings, deductions, and net pay.
- Reconcile payroll to the general ledger and bank statements.
- Process manual checks and special pay items.
- Assist with ad hoc, quarterly, and year-end payroll reporting.
- Support compliance activities (e.g., unclaimed property).
- Address payroll inquiries professionally; escalate as needed.
- Maintain accurate records per policy and controls.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent experience.
- 2–3 years of payroll or related experience.
- Typing speed: 50 WPM.
- Spreadsheet proficiency: Excel or equivalent.
- Payroll systems: ADP experience preferred (EV6 a plus).
- Strong attention to detail, deadline discipline, discretion with sensitive data, and clear communication.

Salary : $22 - $24
