Director of Youth Ministries

Job Summary
The Director of Youth Ministries is a vital leadership role dedicated to guiding and nurturing the spiritual growth of youth within Lawrenceburg United Methodist Church and its surrounding neighborhood. This position involves developing engaging programs on Wednesday nights, providing spiritual mentorship, and fostering a supportive environment that encourages faith development within a Wesleyan tradition. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a passion for mentoring young people in accordance with the life and teachings of Jesus. The individual must be at least a high school graduate.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and lead Wednesday night activities of Bible studies, fun activities, and community building among the youth.
• Provide mentorship and support to youth members, addressing their spiritual, emotional, and social needs.
• Coordinate and oversee two events a year outside the Wednesday night format.
• Collaborate with parents, church staff, and volunteers to ensure a cohesive approach to youth development.
• Offer bereavement support and Christian counseling as needed to help youth navigate life challenges.
• Plan fundraising events to support youth ministry initiatives and activities.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, participation, and program outcomes.
• Ensure all activities adhere to safety guidelines and promote a welcoming environment for all participants.

Experience

• Proven experience in youth ministry or related roles within a church or faith-based organization.
• Strong background in teaching, mentoring, and leadership with children and adolescents.
• Experience with event planning and fundraising is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with youth, parents, volunteers, and church leadership.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $100.00 per week

Expected hours: 2 per week
