HPC Network Solutions Architect
Location: Dallas, Texas 5 Days On-site
Salary: $175,000 - $255,000 Bonus
Industry: Technology, Information and Internet
This position is not available for c2c or Visa Sponsorship/Transfer.
The Company We Are Partnered With
A well-funded, high-growth technology organization backed by experienced leadership and strong investment, operating at the forefront of innovation. The company is focused on scaling and advancing high-performance computing (HPC) and cloud infrastructure to support complex research, production, and data-driven workloads. The engineering teams build critical systems that reduce friction across simulations, analytics, and decision-making, enabling faster discovery and innovation across industries.
The Position
As an HPC Network Solutions Architect, you will design, integrate, and optimize high-performance networking architectures that support HPC, AI/ML, and data-intensive workloads. You will serve as a trusted advisor to customers, guiding them across the full solution lifecycle — from requirements gathering and architecture design through proof-of-concept, deployment, and ongoing optimization.
This is a highly technical, customer-facing role. You will work closely with clients to align low-latency, high-bandwidth networking solutions with workload demands, while also collaborating internally with engineering and product teams to influence future capabilities. The role sits at the intersection of advanced networking technologies (e.g., InfiniBand, RoCE, EVPN, VXLAN) and real-world enterprise-scale deployment.
This position offers the opportunity to shape next-generation HPC networking solutions, deliver measurable impact, and contribute to the evolution of emerging technologies within a rapidly growing ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary networking subject matter expert for customers building or scaling HPC environments.
- Partner with customers to define network performance goals, scalability needs, and integration requirements.
- Design and document end-to-end HPC network architectures across Ethernet and high-performance interconnects.
- Lead proof-of-concept initiatives and benchmarking efforts to validate performance against workload requirements.
- Optimize multi-vendor, multi-protocol environments, addressing scale challenges such as throughput bottlenecks and data locality.
- Define integration strategies across compute, storage, orchestration, and security layers.
- Conduct performance analysis and tuning to identify and resolve network inefficiencies.
- Develop observability frameworks using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and vendor telemetry solutions.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, and operations teams to standardize and refine architectures.
- Engage with technology partners to integrate new features and support evolving solution capabilities.
- Stay current on emerging networking technologies and provide strategic guidance on adoption.
- Represent the organization in customer engagements, workshops, and industry events.
Requirements
- Proven experience in HPC networking architecture, systems design, or large-scale data center networking.
- Strong expertise in high-performance networking protocols such as InfiniBand and RoCE.
- Hands-on experience designing and deploying large-scale Ethernet networks (BGP, OSPF, EVPN, VXLAN).
- Understanding of GPU communication frameworks (e.g., MPI, NCCL) and their interaction with network infrastructure.
- Proficiency in Linux environments and scripting for automation (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).
- Experience working across multi-vendor environments and evaluating emerging technologies.
- Ability to translate complex technical requirements into clear architectural solutions.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Experience
- Experience supporting HPC or AI/ML workloads in low-latency, high-throughput environments.
- Familiarity with container networking and CNI plugins in Kubernetes-based environments.
- Exposure to infrastructure-as-code and automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
- Experience collaborating with vendors on product development or roadmap alignment.
- Involvement in open-source HPC or infrastructure projects.
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications in networking, cloud, or systems engineering.
