Duties
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of landscape install crew, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to safety protocols
- Oversee the use of hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment such as excavators for landscape installation, hardscape construction, and maintenance tasks
- Perform lawn care activities including mowing, edging, fertilizing, aeration, and weed control to maintain pristine turf conditions
- Conduct tree care operations such as trimming, pruning, planting, and health assessments to promote healthy growth and safety
- Manage irrigation systems—installation, repairs, adjustments—to ensure optimal watering efficiency across all landscaped areas
- Execute snow plowing operations during winter months to keep pathways and parking areas clear and safe
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, equipment maintenance, and project progress to ensure accountability and continuous improvement
Requirements
- Proven experience in landscape installation, landscaping, or horticulture with a strong understanding of lawn care practices and plant health management
- Mechanical knowledge of power tools, hand tools, irrigation systems, and heavy machinery such as excavators used in construction or hardscape projects
- Knowledge of tree care techniques including trimming, pruning, and disease management
- Ability to operate snow plows safely during winter conditions
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise teams effectively while maintaining a positive work environment
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients
- Physical stamina to perform outdoor tasks in various weather conditions for extended periods
Nice-to-have skills include experience with gardening techniques, hardscape installation (such as patios or walkways), horticulture principles, and familiarity with construction processes related to landscape projects. A background in maintaining landscapes using various landscaping methods will be highly valued.
